It’s been 9 months of excitement and anticipation and finally the Rooney family has a new addition. England footballer Wayne Rooney and wife Colleen welcomed a baby boy into the world at 2.20pm yesterday afternoon and he is already causing a stir amongst fans!
The childhood sweetheart’s first baby has firmly grabbed the media’s attention and after spending a lot of time arguing about what to call their son they decided on Kai which means ‘keeper of keys’ in Welsh but has other translations dependent on the language.
Mother and baby are healthy and bookies just couldn’t help themselves but to release odds on what could be the future career of Rooney jnr.
Ladbrokes is offering 33/1 that Kai will follow in his footballer dad’s footsteps and become a Manchester United player, with the same odds offered for him to play for Manchester city however they get shorter at 25/1 for him to play at Everton. Other clubs include odds for him to play at Liverpool at 66/1 and 50/1 to play for England.
A spokesperson from Ladbrokes explained, “If Rooney Junior inherits a fraction of his dad’s skills then a career in football looks nailed on.”
A small bet with Ladbrokes now could definitely pay off in years to come!

AFC manager, Arsene Wenger, has spoken out about his recent transfer activity and has assured his fans that he will not be panic buying this summer.
Arsenal have sold Emmanual Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Man City over the past week for approximately £40 million and have so far only bought one new player, Thoman Vermaelen from Ajax, for £10million.
The Gunner’s manager has always preferred to be frugal with his cash rather than splashing millions on more experienced players; Wenger has always preferred to focus his efforts on young rising stars. However, many Arsenal fans are becoming frustrated that a major trophy has not been held by the club for four years and that the squad isn’t large or flexible enough to compete with its domestic rivals.
It has been argued that youngsters such as Ramsey, Walcott and Wilshere aren’t ready to play at such a high level week in week out.
In response to the claims, Arsene Wenger commented, “I feel we are strong enough but if we can add then we will do it… In England people think that all the problems can be sorted out by buying players. If we need to add then we will. We have money available so for us it is now [important] to spend it in the right way when we do it or if we do it.”
Arsenal is 8/1 with Bet 365 to win the 2009-10 Barclays Premier League.
